In Psalm 1:1, the blessed man is described in the negative, i.e. by what he does not do. This description showcases a progression of ungodliness. When ungodly counsel is heeded, it results in sin, and such can evolve into the basest forms of ungodliness such as blatant scorn for God. Sin is progressive, and we must beware.
