When Mike Zaffaroni acquired the landscaping business on North Main Street now known as Liberty Landscape Supply, there was one employee and about $500,000 in annual revenue. Liberty Landscape Supply is a supplier of landscape materials for homeowners and contractors with two locations (soon to be three) in Northeast Florida and an online store. Mike purchased the business, formerly Fernandina Mulch & Stone, in 2007. Initially offering just 20 products, the business has grown to more than 1,800 items in their inventory and 50 employees.
In 2018 eleven Northeast Florida business leaders were selected as Small Business Leaders of the Year by the Jacksonville Chamber Councils, the Beaches Division and the Entrepreneurial Growth Division. Each of these business leaders then competed for the overall JAX Chamber Small Business Leader of the Year.
