The Servant of God

“The Problem of Morality”

Ma. 10:17-22

A Question of Ethics (vv. 17-18)

“None is righteous, no, not one; 11  no one understands; no one seeks for God. 12 All have turned aside; together they have become worthless; no one does good, not even one.” 18  “There is no fear of God before their eyes.”

(Ro. 3:10b-12,18).

A Question of Law (vv.19-20)

A Question of Repentance (vv. 21-22).

  1. You change your mind about yourself
  2. You change your mind about sin

3.  You change your mind about God

26 “If anyone comes to me and does not hate his own father and mother and wife and children and brothers and sisters, yes, and even his own life, he cannot be my disciple… 33 So therefore, any one of you who does not renounce all that he has cannot be my disciple.  (Lu.14:26,33).

Other seeds fell among thorns, and the thorns grew up and choked them… 22 As for what was sown among thorns, this is the one who hears the word, but the cares of the world and the deceitfulness of riches choke the word, and it proves unfruitful. (Matt. 13:7,22)

But those who desire to be rich fall into temptation, into a snare, into many senseless and harmful desires that plunge people into ruin and destruction. 10 For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evils. It is through this craving that some have wandered away from the faith and pierced themselves with many pangs. (1 Tim. 6:9-10).
