If I had a dollar for every time I tripped and fell into my oven.. we would most definitely have no dollars, that would be none dollars. This week, Sofie's Choice was largely influenced by digging into her Scandinavian heritage, and looking into little known cases in this region. While huge in Finland, this was definitely a shock to true crime addict Sofie K. Tune in this Thursday as she shares what would later be known as 'The Oven Murder' with Gabbi. Sure to capture the interest of any true crime junkie, what started as a missing person's case would take a turn when a mummified women was found crammed in her own oven. However that knowledge wouldn't come to light until 12 years after the woman's disappearance. This case is one of Finland's best known homicides, and the killer has never been officially been identified. Find out how the love between mother and son led a man to never giving up on finding the truth of what happened to his mother one fateful Christmas Day.
Huge shoutout to Jess over @AsianMadnessPod, who gave us a shoutout and made Sofie have a fangirl moment. Definitely give her a listen, she covers amazing stories from the other side of the world, and as a seasoned crime addict, I can tell you, you probably haven't heard of most of them.
Also thank you @TrueCrimeFinland, for unknowingly helping me out with pronunciations as I researched this case. I have to honestly say both of these women cover little known cases, it's mind-blowing to hear some of the murders they cover.
