Welcome to Sofie's Choice Podcast! As promised, to bring light to the very serious situation that is child abuse, this is Sofie's Choice of her once-a-month Child Abuse Advocacy Case. This is the story of Engeline Megawe: Bali's Missing Child. What started as a missing person's case of an adorable 8-year-old girl by the name of Engeline, quickly became dubbed 'Bali's Missing Child' after her sisters efforts to make Facebook pages and hand out flyers fails to turn up any new leads. You can imagine the public's shock when the poor girl is found 25 days later buried in her own back yard. A whole island of people who banded together to try and find this girl were quick to criticize police, as it seemed she was right under their noses the whole time. Don't lose faith yet though, as Indonesian police are quick to sniff out a cover-up.
