Sofie's Choice this week comes all the way from the other side of the world: New Zealand!

We've got a mystery for you guys this week, and centers around Larnach family matriarch: William James Mudie Larnach. A man of Scottish descent, was born in 1833 in New South Wales, Australia, he began a career in banking starting in Melbourne, then moving on to continue that career with his family of 8 in tow to New Zealand. William then built an extravagant compound, which he would always refer to as "The Camp", but would forever be remembered as "Larnach Castle". Tragedy unfortunately seems to follow William wherever he goes, as this home would see him lose two wives and his beloved favorite child. The extravagant castle would later be home to the mentally ill, a hospital for shell-shocked soldiers, and even used as a nun's retreat! No wonder this place was haunted..

Tune in to hear all the secrets of this family-the scandals, a stolen skull, and more! And of course the ghosts that come with this gorgeous home and it's extensive history. On this week's episode Stella (one of Sofie's many huskies) really wants to be involved. Sofie proves yet again that Geography is NOT her strong suit, which you guys already knew, in her defense though New Zealand is left out of a lot of world maps. We also learn you can be a professional squatter, professional pick-pocket, or a professional door-to-door broom salesman.. Perhaps Sofie and Gabbi should consider changing professions? 🤔

Lesson of the week: If you find someone who likes Taco Bell or ham as much as you do, that is not a sign to go ahead and marry them.
