Description

Stigma refers to the discrimination against a particular group of people, identifiable by a common nation, place, condition, or other attribute. Some people have a stigma against those with a substance use disorder because of inaccurate and outdated beliefs about addiction that led harmful stereotypes, assumptions, and negative attitudes. The stigma of addiction can result in harmful and dangerous consequences. It can be a huge deterrent for people struggling with Substance use disorders who may want to get help to stop using but since there’s this negative aura that surrounds addiction, research has found that 90% of people do not receive or seek the help that they need and are half as likely to get it to avoid being stigmatized.

Let's END this stigma. We are all humans with different struggles and we all need a little compassion and love to help us get through the hard times.
