Even as Aaron and his son’s served as priests in the temple, offering sacrifices to God for the atonement of the sins of people, likewise, God has made us into holy priests. We don’t atone for anything because the blood of Jesus has atoned for the sins of the whole world, but are called to offer spiritual sacrifices that are pleasing to God.
