Description

The names of God I speak about are:

Jehovah Shammah (The Lord Is There) - Ezekiel 48:35 "All the way around shall be eighteen thousandth cubits, and the name of the city from that day shall be: The Lord is There.

Jehovah Tsidkenu (The Lord Our Righteousness) - (Jeremiah 23:5-6) Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will raise unto David a righteous Branch, and a King shall reign and prosper, and shall execute judgment and justice in the earth. In his days Judah shall be saved, and Israel shall dwell safely: and this is his name whereby he shall be called, THE LORD OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS.


Jehovah-Raah (The Lord My Shepherd) - Psalm 23: 1 “A Psalm of David. The Lord is my Sheperd. I shall not want.”

El Shaddai (Lord God Almighty) -  Genesis 17:1 “When Abram was ninety-nine years old, the Lord appeared to Abram and said to him, I am Almighty God (El Shaddai); walk before Me and be blameless. 

Qanna (Jealous) - Exodus 34:14 (for you shall worship no other god, for the Lord, whose name is Jealous, is a jealous God)

Jehovah Nissi (The Lord My Banner): Exodus 17:15, “And Moses built an altar and called its name, The Lord Is My Banner”


Jehovah Rapha (The Lord That Heals) Exodus 15:25 - 26, (vs. 25) So he cried out to the Lord, and the Lord showed him a tree. When he cast it into the waters, the waters were made sweet. There He made a statute and an ordinance for them, and there He tested them, (vs. 26) and said, “if you diligently heed the voice of the Lord your God and do what is right in His sight, give ear to His commandments and keep all His statutes, I will put none of the diseases on you which I have brought on the Egyptians. For I am the Lord who heals you.”

El Elyon (The Most High God) Genesis 14:18, “Then Melchizedek king of Salem brought out bread and wine; he was the priest of God Most High.”

Adonai (Lord, Master) Genesis 15:1-2, “After these things the word of the LORD came unto Abram in a vision, saying, Fear not, Abram: I am thy shield, and thy exceeding great reward. And Abram said, Lord GOD, what wilt thou give me, seeing I go childless, and the steward of my house is this Eliezer of Damascus?”

Yahweh (Lord, Jehovah) Exodus 3:14 - 15, “And God said to Moses, ‘I AM WHO I AM,’ and He said, ‘Thus you shall say to the children of Israel, I AM has sent me to you.’ Moreover, God said to Moses, ‘Thus you shall say to the children of Israel: ‘The Lord God of your fathers, The God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, has sent me to you. This is My name forever, and this is My memorial to all generations.”

Jehovah Mekoddishkem (The Lord Who Sanctifies You)  Exodus 31:13, “Speak also to the children of Isreal, saying: Surely My Sabbaths you shall keep, for it is a sign between Me and you throughout your generations, that you may know that I am the Lord who sanctifies you.”

El Olam (The Everlasting God) Genesis 21:33, “Abraham planted a tamarisk tree in Beersheba, and there he called on the name of the LORD, the Eternal God.”

Elohim (God) Genesis 1:1, “In the beginning, Elohim, created the heavens and the earth.”

Jehovah Jireh (The Lord Will Provide) Genesis 22:14, “And Abraham called the name of the place, The Lord Will Provide’ as it is said to this day, “In the Mount of the Lord it shall be provided.”

Jehovah Sabaoth (The Lord of Hosts) 1 Samuel 1:3, “This man went up from his city yearly to worship and sacrifice to the Lord of Hosts in Shiloh.”
