Self-care has become very prominent in our day-to-day lives. We've recognized the importance of prioritizing our mental health and overall well-being. According to the National Institute of Mental Health, "Self-care means taking the time to do things that help you live well and improve both your physical health and mental health. When it comes to your mental health, self-care can help you manage stress, lower your risk of illness, and increase your energy." In this week's episode, I debunk what self-care is and explain how it can sometimes be misinformed. When someone says, "I need a self-care day" or, "I need to practice some self-care", what exactly does that mean? In this episode, explain the difference between self-care and ongoing wellness.
