It’s our first episode back for season 2 and we are honoured to be joined by Len One for episode 16 of Beers, Beats and The Biz.
This episode is packed! We begin with the ethos behind Len’s new project - alongside Chubbs and Hams - the imprint; Milesago Music and from there we go everywhere.
From Len’s teenage years spent in Melbourne as a member of RFK and his early influences, to his move to Brisbane in the early 90’s and the friendships he forged in the River City.
We talk meeting Lazy Grey and forming Blackstump, Boney & Stoney, Brothers Stoney and recording their 2003 classic Stonebroke in Adelaide with Mnemonic Ascent’s BVA.
We talk stories and behind the scenes of individual songs like Frontin from On or Off Tap, Toowong from The Authentic LP, Freedom Fighters off the Rock Da City compilation, Lyrical Luncheon and Cut Throats from 2004’s Obesecity.
Between it all we talk friends, family, the importance of Rics Cafe, Len’s time spent working for Rockinghorse Records, as well as the egos and dynamic of being in a crew like the 750 Rebels.
There is too much in this episode, we even get the origins of Len’s synonymous line, “done like a dinner right..” and it’s near catchphrase status today.
Welcome back to Beers, Beats & The Biz for 2019 and we hope you enjoy, A Table for Two featuring Len One.
