We were honoured to have Melbourne City’s own, Bias B join us for the eighth epic episode of Beers, Beats & The Biz.
Bias joined us via Skype from his home in Melbourne and proceeded to breakdown and give insight into a career that has spanned decades and created history.
From his early days as a writer with WCA and the influence of crews like All City and Da Mad Artists on to cohosting The Formula and the impact and legacy of the show, which produced a cassette of classic freestyles.
Bias talks about the early days, the growth and then eventual downturn of Obese Records, as a staff member and artist on the label. We talk Big Bamboo, Beezwax, Boney & Stoney, In Bed, Brisbane, Biggie covers and bundles of other B’s.
We talk about friends, having a lung collapse, Ecko Clothing, and touring the country - there’s not a lot we don’t get in to, including Hunter’s legacy and the success and work involved in organising the Robert Hunter Cup.
Bias gave us an episode for the history books, this is not only an amazing listen but a documentation of hip hop’s growth in this country. Cheers to Bias B.
