Welcome to What Do You Do Exactly?
It was a question I found myself asking former colleagues and strangers on Linkedin while in grad school. Talking to people led to my decision to research production management. Since I found these conversations useful, I wanted to offer similar ones as a resource to others looking for inspiration.
I'm Jamie Maglietta, a former TV news producer at CNN and Fox News Channel. I'm a mom who enjoys being creative and learning new skills. I also have a passion for coaching and consulting others on their careers in the media and entertainment industry.
I love TV news and always will, but after being laid off, I decided to test the waters as a Line Producer in long-form production management. Since I am now officially a freelancer, I started my own business as a media consultant and I launched this podcast. I wanted to produce this podcast with a well-known host but I figured with my new freedom, I might as well put myself out there and do this on my time.
