Description

Guilt says you've done something wrong.

Shame says there is something wrong with you.

Shame is a lie and there is no room for shame with diabetes!

You didn't do anything wrong, your kid didn't do anything wrong. We just are here doing the best we can to manage blood sugar levels and no shame needed.

We do need a healthy amount of guilt to keep us on track but if you are spending your whole life in guilt energy, your nervous system doesn't ever get the chance to rest and recover.

If you make it mean that there is something wrong with you every time your child's blood sugar levels are too high or too low, you will drive yourself crazy. You must get off of the roller coaster. The monitor will show the glucose levels are on a roller coaster, but your emotions don't need to go with it.

You are doing your best. You are learning new things everyday. And as soon as you get in a rhythm, your carb ratio will change and you'll need to adjust again. Trust yourself. Take deep breaths. And sign up for your complimentary coaching session where I can help you manage your mental and emotional health while managing your child's diabetes. Find a time that works for both of us at dropthewar.com/appointments. I'll see ya on zoom!

And don't forget, every Tuesday morning at 9:30 AM Mountain Time, we all meet together for a free T1D Moms Support Group call. Get that zoom link, access to replays, and more helpful content at dropthewar.com/t1d
