THE SOUTH ELEUTHERA MISSION: COMMUNITY EDUCATION & EMPOWERMENT
In this episode of the Youth Perspective, we speak with Ms. Danielle Gibson, Executive Director of the South Eleuthera Mission. The South Eleuthera Mission (SEM) is a non-profit organization that was incorporated in 2008 in the Bahamas. Its formation was a direct result of the efforts of residents of the South Eleuthera district who felt it was necessary to establish a facility to serve as a catalyst for educational and community development programs.
SEM occupies a historic building, replete with rich and colorful Bahamian history. It was originally, a Methodist manse for missionaries whose construction dates back more than 140 years, it then serviced the communities as the main Clinic, the structure is now a Bahamas Heritage Site, and part of the Antiquities Monuments and Museums Corporation. We get the opportunity to speak about the projects they offer weekly and even an upcoming event this month! This was an amazing show and I look forward to sharing it with you!
