On this episode of The Youth Perspective we remember and commemorate the events that took place of May 10th 1980, 40 years ago when the Royal Bahamas Defence Force patrol craft HMBS Flamingo was attacked and sunk by Cuban MIG jet fighters near Ragged Island. Four Marines lost their lives in that ordeal. The names of those officers: Able Seaman Fenrick Sturrup, 21, Marine Seaman Austin Rudolph Smith, 21, Marine Seaman David Allison Tucker, 21, and Marine Seaman Edward Arnold Williams, 23. Fifteen Officers and Marines survived that tragedy. We speak with one of those survivors who will share the harrowing story Lt. Commander Whitfield Neilly. We remember, We honor and we tell the story!
