We go over striking a balance between pain and pleasure and how it can be one of the most difficult components of overcoming habitual behaviors that do not serve our goals. Seeking instant gratification often leads to delayed consequences that can lead to suffering in the long run. Painful experiences can be reframed as footholds for growth, developing a natural confidence in our ability to face difficulty and find renewed strength after the pain has passed. It is rewarding to recognize how delayed gratification often produces greater satisfaction than most immediate pleasures, on the journey to achieving our most desired results.
