Episode 10 - You've Changed

Has someone ever said to you 'You've changed'?

They have to me.

When I was in my late teens, early 20's, I decided I'd had enough of going out boozing each weekend, only to feel rubbish the week after and have low confidence in my appearance. I decided something needed to change.

So I started going to the gym each day and eating a health, calorie controlled, diet. 

What happened?

I changed!

Not only did my appearance change, but I had more confidence. I started to read books on a Saturday night instead of going out drinking. I started to feel good!

And people started to tell me 'You've changed', ' You've changed Graham'

When this was first said to me, it was said with such negativity that I felt guilty that I had changed. I felt that I had done something bad. 

But then, I started to do something I have never done before. 

I started to look back at my life, and look at who I was 5/6 years ago. 

I saw that I had changed. I had started to become what I had thought was a better version of myself.

So Now, as well as asking myself, 'Where do I want to be in five years time?'

I also ask myself, 'Where was I five years ago? Have I changed? And has it been for the better?'.

Now when people say 'You've changed.'  I think 'Good!' 'I am pleased I have changed.' I'm getting myself out there and change my life. And hopefully I am inspiring others to do the same along the way!
