Description

Today I'm talking about two of the earliest examples of mysteries written by black authors. Haggar's Daughter written in 1901-1902 by Pauline Hopkins and The Black Detective 1908-1909 by John Bruce. Over the Month of June I look forward to delving more into the histories of these authors and ways they used their voice to talk about the prejudices and stereotypes of their days.
