The Sounds of Success Community Marching Band ("The SOS Warriors") and its Founder and Band Director Antoine Miller. Antoine is a saxophonist and former public school teacher in Palm Beach County, Florida, who has been playing instruments and performing in marching bands since middle school. Using the knowledge and experience he gained as a former saxophonist in the Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University's (FAMU") Marching 100 marching band, Antoine teaches youth between the ages of 5 and 23 about music and marching band fundamentals.
The SOS Warriors is a multi-award-winning band that competes across the southern United States. The band also performs at FAMU homecoming events and the Florida Classic. Some youth graduate from high school, audition, and perform in marching bands at historically Black colleges and universities. Antoine and other music and dance leaders volunteer their time and talents with the youth to help create a positive path in their lives. In addition to the United States, the SOS Warriors have caught audiences' attention in the United Kingdom. In the summer of 2023, the band will travel to London as the only U.S. community marching band to play during London Band Week. Antoine is fundraising to raise $500,000 so that each band member can perform in London without any financial support from their families.
