The dailies are in and we’re watching The Defiant Ones! Our 19th episode and last of the Sidney Poitier run. We cross over to a Tony Curtis run with this groundbreaking film that nabbed both stars' academy award nominations. Directed by future-friend of Poitier’s, Stanley Kramer (who also directed Guess Who’s Coming to Dinner), this film marked a new journey for Poitier and Curtis on the screen as they sought to reimagine what a story could do. Manhunt
2 oz Jameson Irish Whiskey
4 dashes lemon juice
1 tsp granulated sugar
1 splash sparkling water
1 maraschino cherry
Dissolve the sugar in lemon juice and water at the bottom of a Boston shaker. Add the whiskey, and fill halfway with ice. Stir to combine and chill, then pour into a tumbler. Garnish with a cherry.
