A celebration of risk-taking and the power of persistence, MY HEART SAYS GO follows first generation college student, Indigo, who defies his father and drops out of medical school to become a singer-songwriter. Indigo is accompanied on his journey by a new friend, Clara, who has her own struggles at home. By the end, Indigo and his father find a new respect and understanding for each other, while Clara experiences a loss that allows her to see the importance of family and human connection. MY HEART SAYS GO is a celebratory anthem for the next generation and a loving reminder for parents. This new pop musical is about listening to your heart, overcoming obstacles, and never giving up on those you love.

Born and raised on the east side of O’ahu, Erica learned about improv comedy in 7th grade and yeah, no it’s pretty much all been downhill from there.
In 2021, they graduated from the University of Michigan with a BFA in Musical Theatre and a minor in English Literature, and have since put both degree specialities to use by becoming a full-time actor in NYC as well as writing you this run-on sentence; jk, they also work part-time as a bookseller.
Erica does frequent work with the non-profit organization Fandom Forward, and recently joined the creative board of Mixed Asian Media. Once a week, she loves to yell about coming of age love stories and mythology with her genius co-host/best friend on their podcast Seaweed Brain.
Also passionate about movement in all forms, she can be found playing capoeira and teaching yoga in Queens.
