In this episode, Pastor Rhonda and Pastor Seth continue the discussion on the call from last week as they look at the Jonah passage in the lectionary. Jonah is such an awesome character in the bible, and there is so much that we can learn from him and his story. The bigger picture in Jonah though is, how much we learn about God and who He is. In this story, we see the realities of a loving, gracious, caring God who values repentance and redemption. He values it so much, He is willing to repent and change His mind on the destruction of a people. Jonah though struggles with this and His call to deliver the message of God and His kingdom. Sometimes it is easy for us to struggle and get complacent. Scripture does call us to a sense of urgency though, and the question is how are we going to live that kingdom out here and now.
