Part 2: On this episode Danny sits down with friend and owner of TruNorth Construction, Matt Powers. They discuss work, parenting, relationships and life. Matt is a very successful contractor with many skills in his field.
Matt Powers "Since I can remember I have been intrigued by the construction field. As a child I would collect all the used construction debris I could get my hands on, and with my fathers tools I would construct forts throughout the neighborhood. Throughout high school I worked for a plumber, labored for a carpenter, and worked on a landscaping crew.
This taught me the value of hard work, and how all the trades worked together towards a common goal. After graduation I worked as a laborer for a local residential construction company. Here, I was fortunate to learn from many skilled carpenters. With these acquired skills I worked my way up to lead carpenter and then project manager.
In 2007 I felt it was time for me to venture out on my own. For the past ten years Powers Construction has helped build the community I was raised in. Powers Construction built a reputation of trust, reliability, and quality craftsmanship."
