There's hardly anyone in Goa who hasn't heard of him, as his cartoons
in local media have consistently captured the essence of Goan life
and spirit, striking a chord with the community. Born Alex Raphael
Fernandes, he adopted the name Alexyz from the 1964 Greek film Zorba
the Greek. Recently, he celebrated his 80th birthday. To mark the
occasion, we sat down with Alexyz, where he shared insights about his
journey, experiences, and his work across various fields.
