Description

High up in the Sahyadri hills of Chorla Ghat, a special flower called Karvi blooms only once every seven years. In September, this small, purple flower covers the shrubs, turning the area into a sea of purple & bluish-green. Though it has no smell, it attracts many butterflies. The Karvi thrives in the moist, misty climate of the Western Ghats. After its short blooming period, the flowers fade, & the plant becomes green again. The seeds spread out through a process called masting, helping new plants grow.
