Today I had an opportunity to interview Max Klau who is an Integral Master coach, an author, a speaker, and a consultant based in Boston, Massachusetts. An alum of four service programs, he has led service trips in Israel, Ghana, Honduras and Ukraine. He received his doctorate from the Harvard Graduate School of Education in 2005, with a focus on leadership development and social change.
Max currently serves as the Chief Program Officer at the New Politics Leadership Academy, a non-partisan non-profit that is dedicated to recruiting and developing military veterans and alumni of national service programs to seek political office. In this role, he coaches individuals who are running for office at every level from school board up through Congress. Previously, he was the Vice President of Leadership Development at the AmeriCorps program City Year. During his decade at City Year, he worked with thousands of idealistic young people dedicating a year of their lives to supporting students at high-need schools across the nation.
His writing about leadership has appeared in Fast Company and the Harvard Business Review and his first book, Race & Social Change: A Quest, A Study, A Call to Action, was published in 2017.
He is a husband, father of two, artist, musician, and community activitist. Max’s greatest passion is helping those who seek to serve others connect with their deeper, higher selves.
