Day 1 of The District Church's 21 Days of Prayer and Fasting for 2026.
Exodus 33:18-19 “Then Moses said, ‘Now show me your glory.’ And the LORD said, ‘I will cause all my goodness to pass in front of you, and I will proclaim my name, the LORD, in your presence. I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion.’”
Reflection
Moses doesn’t ask for success, direction, or safety—he asks to see God’s glory. And God responds not by showing power, but by revealing His goodness, mercy, and compassion. God’s glory isn’t distant or overwhelming; it is personal and gracious. To know God deeply is to encounter His mercy.
Application
Today, slow down enough to ask for what matters most: a deeper awareness of God’s presence. Look for His goodness in ordinary moments. Then pray that our church—and our neighborhood—would encounter the mercy of God in real, life-changing ways. May we not just work for God, but walk closely with Him.
