Epidemiologist is calling for flu vaccines to be released little earlier this year so people can receive it before a COVID vaccine is rolled out. Catherine Bennett who’s the chair of epidemiology at Deakin University says flu vaccine was brought forward last year partly because of coronavirus. Prof Bennet says it makes sense to do the same thing this year because it would provide great flexibility when the COVID vaccine become available. She says it make sense to get flu vaccine before getting the two injections required for vaccination.

Residence of greater Sydney caught not wearing face masks at indoor venue can now be fined.
In the response to the growing outbreak of coronavirus across greater Sydney, those in the region required to wear masks at several venues including on public transport and shopping centres or face a fine. State transport minister Andrew Constance says people won’t be denied getting on the bus. Opposition leader Jodi Mckay says organisations need to ensure masks are readily available. NSW police says the $200 fine is a last result for those flouting the rules.

The Australian government is in a legal battle to depote Chinese businessman with links to the liberal party whose been assessed a risk to national security. This exclusive report from ABC investigation.
Businessman Ha Liu donated more than $20,000 to the liberal party. He’s now fighting in a court to stay in Australia after spy agency, ASIO relate to the security risks. Mr Liu founded neighbourhood watch group which became the assistant agency of Chinese Melbourne Consulate. The group was promoted by the federal liberal MP Gladys Liu over several years. Ha Liu also attended the events with the assistant treasurer Michael Sukkar who invited him at his table at Budget Night dinner. Spokesman of Sukkar says the two never had a private conversation. Gladys says she was not aware of the allegation against the business man.
