Description

Coronavirus COVID-19 is spreading in the cruise ship called the Diamond Princess. The ship was placed under quarantine at the city of Yokohama early last week with about 3,700 passengers and crew members aboard. A man who had disembarked in Hong Kong tested positive for the coronavirus. Since then, at least 218 cases have been confirmed aboard the ship. Japanese government took a risk that they check up people in the ship within 14 days despite the authorities' advices that the people should get off the ship. Including those on the ship, Japan has the second-largest number of confirmed cases outside China. WHO announced at the conference.

There are about 400 Americans abroad and at least 40 people are under the treatment. Last night, U.S. government decided to evacuate its citizens from the ship before the quarantine period finished.
