In this episode of Public Servants’ Announcements, we talk with another former student of mine, Luis Barias. After introducing Luis, we quickly get into how his life went through a lot of changes during his senior year of high school. Not only did he change schools and move out of his house, but his mom died, and he ultimately lost his focus in school. He spends a little time talking about how his life and relationships have changed since his mom’s passing. That coincided with his moving out, which caused him to grow up a lot. After we talk about that, it all starts to tie in to his growing relationship with God. We talk deeply about how building his relationship with God has changed the way he views the world, and we talk through some disagreements about religion and the Bible.
