Always Be Testing - Implementing new ideas and strategies is crucial to an ever evolving business model
Testing just might be the small business owners greatest tool – and yet, so few take the time to do it at all.
Heck this could be for anyone in any area of their life! (ie fitness, business, finance, social etc)
Don't get caught up in chasing the shiny new penny and waste countless hours and lots of money trying every new idea and product out there.
Be sure to focus on the one thing that will bring you closer to achieving your goals.
What’s the one thing you can do, such that by doing it, everything else will be easier or unnecessary? -Quote from (The One Thing by Gary Keller)
Once you have that, research proven methods. It's good to model a proven method. There is no need to reinvent the wheel…..just yet (We can revisit this once we have found a method that works!)
This is where the testing begins. Try one, two, or several methods until one resonates with you.
Let's take working out for example. Do you lift weights? Do yoga? Maybe run or do cardio? When you are happy with your choice you know you’ve found the right fit.
Next is how to hold yourself accountable to doing it. We just did an entire show on this.
We suggest a 66 day challenge which can be found attached to the show notes.
Gary Keller and Jay Papasan Created the 66 day challenge. You can download it here→ https://www.the1thing.com/blog/produc...
Your action now needs to be implemented. Are you going to download a regiment? Download and app to tell you what to do or follow along with. Will you get a gym membership? How about a personal trainer?
We advise starting small. Creating a plan or vision. Being clear on the intent and your one thing. Use free or cheaper solutions to start and track progress. Make sure whatever it is your testing, that you give it enough time to ensure that it will either work for you. If after 30 -60 days it's not providing the desired outcome it may be time to scrap that idea and move onto the next one.
Don't get discouraged along the way. It takes time to build upon a new idea or habit. There are many roads out there that all ultimately lead to the same destination. You just have to find yours.
Once you find the one that works, dive in. Explore the different facets and ways to go about doing your new found idea. Track how it impacts your business or personal life. Become knowledgeable in all areas that pertain to it.
Once you have mastered the new idea or strategy you can either move onto the next and focus all your time on the new (one thing) or you can take the one you mastered and expand on it, possibly re inventing the wheel and making something totally new or improved.
The sky is not the limit, it's just the beginning. Until next time, be amazing.
