Ch. 7 moves us in time from the reign of Uzziyahu (chs.2-6) to that of his grandson Ahaz - if prosperity and stability characterised the reign of Uzziyahu (and the prophetic critique was aimed against pride), two kings later we are in a period of deep political turmoil and terror. The northern kingdom of Israel has allied with Aram and others against the kingdom of Yehuda to convince Ahaz to join their anti-Assyrian coalition. Ahaz is torn between joining them or forging an alliance with the Assyrian super power. Yishayahu urges him to do neither. Text for this chapter can be found here: https://www.sefaria.org/Isaiah.7
