Says the author:
וָאֹמַ֗ר מִֽי־יִתֶּן־לִּ֣י אֵ֭בֶר כַּיּוֹנָ֗ה אָע֥וּפָה וְאֶשְׁכֹּֽנָה׃
I said, “O that I had the wings of a dove! I would fly away and find rest;
הִ֭נֵּה אַרְחִ֣יק נְדֹ֑ד אָלִ֖ין בַּמִּדְבָּ֣ר סֶֽלָה׃
surely, I would flee far off; I would lodge in the wilderness;selah
Yonah, the dove represents not just peace as in Noach but the ability to easily depart whichever location one is in. It's a theme of many Neviim, Yirmiyahu and Eliyahu, to run away from it all - and perhaps most obviously Yonah himself whose name seems to reflect this.
