The Phillies ended their west coast swing in dreadful fashion, losing 12-5. They are off today before starting a stretch of 22 games in a row against sub-.500 teams. Hopefully they can turn it around for the sake of my blood pressure.

On this day in 2009 the Phillies beat the Cubs 12-5 at Wrigley. Ibanez, Rollins and Victorino homered as Pedro Martinez made his Phillies debut. Victorino had a beer dumped on his head while catching a fly ball in the 5th.
