On this day in 1921 the Phillies lost to the Pirates 8-5 at Forbes Field. The game was broadcast on KDKA radio in Pittsburgh. It was the first ever MLB game broadcast on the radio. Harold Arlin did play by play with a make shift mic in a field box.
