On this day in 1975, Elton John released Philadelphia Freedom in honor of his friend Billie Jean King. The song was inspired by the Philadelphia Freedoms World Team Tennis franchise that played in Philadelphia in 1974. Ironically, the Freedoms were sold and playing in Boston under the name Lobsters when the song was released. We spotlight Ryan Howard.
