On this day the #3 ranked Temple Owls lost to the #8 ranked UNLV Runnin' Rebels 59-58. This was the Owls first loss of the season. They would go on to win their next 17 in a row and were ranked #1 heading in the NCAA Tournament where they ultimately lost in the Elite 8.
