I am travelling back to PA so I don't know the outcome of the Phillies game but I have a This Day in Philly Sports History triple-header for you.
On this day in 1883 the Philadelphia Dolly Vardens #1  played an exhibition. In 1912 the A's beat the Tigers 24-2, the Tigers playing with a bunch of Philly natives. In 1981 the Phillies beat the Dodgers 4-0 handing Fernando Valenzuela his first loss of his career.
