What a nostalgic experience it was chatting with Shaggy on this episode! He wrote the soundtrack to my youth; his unique voice banging out tunes such as Oh Carolina, Mr Boombastic, Angel and It Wasn’t Me.

He’s now back with a new album for the festive season, Christmas In The Islands, which features the likes of Ne-Yo, Beenie Man and Joss Stone.

What a guy Shaggy is! We talk all things Jamaica, the future of dancehall music, his time in the US Marine Corps, his infamous turkey sandwiches and I embarrassingly ask him if it really “was him”. If you know, you know!

Shaggy was incredibly open with me, discussing his feelings of success and how he actually doesn’t feel he's made it. This poses the question – what is success? This thought provoking chat really show's Shaggy in a different light and I can’t wait to properly catch up with him over a rum punch and a packet of Cheetos in the future!
