This week I talk to y'all about quitting drinking. So many of us try, fail, start over, promise tomorrow, next time, next week, after this event, holiday-the list goes on and on. When I actually quit I WANTED to. A lot of us need to, but when you want to quit it makes the process far less painful. So, we have to make a decision-to get honest with ourselves about our relationship with alcohol (or vaping, shopping, gambling, social media, video games, etc). Are we happy with this relationship? Are we suffering internal or external consequences from engaging in this behavior? Once we pick a side of the fence we make a decision. I don't want to do this anymore. I won't do this anymore. I'm not doing this anymore. Some may need help/treatment to aide in following through with this decision, and there's no wrong way! Once you've made the decision-you need a plan!! What are you going to do with all your free time? What are you going to do with thoughts and feelings that you used to escape from? What have you been putting off that you can finally begin? I share recovery modalities, sober activities and outlets and talk about meditation, fitness and mind over matter.
