In this message, Pastor Eric invites us into a playful practice of imagining possible futures; of imagining what’s possible without getting bogged down in whether or not it’s realistic or how to do it, etc.
Too often in our own lives and in the church, we can get stuck, and we lose the ability to imagine anything else to be possible other than what is or has been—or perhaps that, but slightly better. But the future is not fixed; it is not “out there” waiting for us to arrive. The future emerges from our present; what’s possible is directly connected to what we can imagine here and now.
Centering all authentic spirituality on the pursuit of aliveness—true, abundant life—Pastor Eric challenges us to consider what a spirituality truly committed to aliveness, to flourishing for all, might look like? What kind of spirituality would be needed to move our world in that direction, and how might the pursuit of such a vision re-shape everything we’re doing—and how we’re doing it—now?
