In this message, Pastor Eric reflects on Jesus' emphatic injunction: "Unless you become like children, you cannot inherit/enter the Kingdom of Heaven."
Entering the "Kingdom/Realm of Heaven" is not about going somewhere when we die. It is about our ability to enter into the presence of the Divine Mystery here, to truly be receive and be animated by God's Love now.
So, what is it about children that we have to learn? What is it that we tend to lose in the process we call "growing up," or "becoming mature"? What is it that they have to teach us; that we need to learn from them?
This message isn't about prioritizing children's entertainment, or about adding more activities to their schedules; nor is it about organize our lives entirely around their whims. Rather, it asks us to take seriously: how would truly valuing their presence--placing their needs alongside our own at the center of our life together--re-shape what we do and how we do it? Are we willing to make those changes? Unless we do, there's much we miss out on...
