Continuing our Easter theme of celebrating a “season of Resurrection,” in this message Pastor Eric reflects on Jesus’ words to his disciples—and to us—when he says: “I tell you, the one who trusts in me will also do the works that I do and, in fact, will do greater works than these, because I am going to the Father.” Can Jesus really be serious here? We’ll do greater things than him, if we trust in him??
From these seemingly absurd words from Jesus, Pastor Eric reflects on the bold, courageous, and radical witness of the early church to suggest that Jesus really meant what he said. Which is to say: What “greater things” is God longing to do in and through us, Christ’s resurrected body, if only we would truly open ourselves to God’s life-raising power?
