In this episode, Channa Channa Channa talks to Arun Jilukshan (guitars) and Sahan Mendis (bass) of ABYSS, the groove metal band from Sri Lanka. Channa watched ABYSS live in 2016 at Maelstrom festival in Colombo.
ABYSS always wanted to be a band who wanted to carry, infect and spread one message to the majority of the society who are blinded solely by the materialistic things in life and trapped in the lies of political power. Hence, by playing the genre “RAW” groove metal, it unintentionally led to a concept called Rebel, Anarchy, Wrath where this concept sums up what ABYSS stands for, what it represents and what ABYSS talks about.
