In this episode, Channa Channa Channa talks to Ryno Theron(Guitar/Vocals), Warren Jones(Guitar) of South African Thrash Metal band Truth Decayed from Durban, South Africa. Channa discovered Truth Decayed via the Internet.
Ryno and Warren grew up together and Ryno’s cousin introduced them to Metal. Influenced by band from the 80s and 90s they started playing the guitar. Warren played in the Durban Metal band "Mystical Element" and Ryno in numerous Durban Metal bands, most notably "Throne".
With Johan Maree (bass) and Brandon Carey (drums), they formed Truth Decayed while in lockdown.
Ryno and Warren talk about their city, their childhood, how they discovered metal, their early bands, forming Truth Decayed, responses for their music, stories behind their songs and upcoming plans. They also talk about the loss of Eddie Van Halen, his legacy and influence.
