John 1:1 sets up the divinity of Christ from before the beginning of time. John uses this verse to prove the sonship of Christ yet many misunderstand and misuse this verse to do the very opposite of what John meant. Instead of proving the divine sonship of Christ, they take his relationship to the Father away and try to make him another God who isn’t really the son of God.
