When it comes to man’s traditions, one thing that stands out and is repeatedly done to prove something that just isn’t in the Word of Truth is this habit of taking verses out of their immediate context. 1 John 5:7 is no exception to this bad habit. This verse is taught to the common church goer that it means the trinity is real. Here is their “proof” to back up their claims. But does it really prove a triune God? I beg to differ. Allow me to use the immediate context of this verse to show what John was saying when he said “these three are one”.
