Have you heard of ‘Lifestyle medicine’? It’s a concept that I believe in whole-heartedly, and is gaining traction in the world of wellbeing. However its full potential is still less recognised by those who put less priority on their wellbeing. 

Charlotte Marriott, a Consultant NHS Psychiatrist specialising in Neuroscience as well as a Certified Lifestyle Medicine Physician gives us a really clear explanation of what lifestyle medicine is all about, and our conversation includes the impact of movement (of course!) on mental health and the physiological mechanisms behind it. 

We discuss the all-important, but often underestimated mind-body connection, with a focus on the interconnectedness of physical and mental health. Our conversation also delves into the role of movement in improving overall well-being and the challenges of promoting regular movement in a sedentary society. 

This is a positive conversation with a doctor who believes in looking at the big picture when looking at our health and I loved discussing this holistic point of view and hope you enjoy it too!
