This week we have “Leiningen vs. the Ants,” an episode of Suspense, one of the most popular shows of the old-time radio era. Suspense aired over CBS from 1942 to 1962. This episode first aired on August 25, 1957, and stars William Conrad in the title role.
It is based on the short story of the same name by Carl Stephenson, which was first published in the December 1938 issue of Esquire. The story was adapted for radio many times and was made into a movie called The Naked Jungle in 1954, starring Charlton Heston.
